The room for rent is the larger of the two bedrooms in a fully furnished 2 bedroom EV gem. This is a real apartment and the bedrooms are on opposite sides of the apartment, very private but laid out well. My bedroom is off of the living room which faces out to 9th street, and the larger bedroom is off of the entry and looks out to the back courtyard. The apartment is fully furnished but the bedroom has only has enough to get you started: custom built-in wooden loft bed to make the room really functional, television, mattress if you need, a/c for the summer. The apartment is wired for cable and wifi, but we could just split the bill.
It is a really charming apartment. The living room has a big tv with built in dvd and vcr players, and if you want to split the cable youre paying for cable in your bedroom and im paying for the cable in the living room, thats just how that works. Ive lived in the apartment for about 4 years now and so its pretty cozy and homey. Its a great place in a great neighborhood and its just waiting for a great roomie.
About me, I am a 22 year old gay architect finishing my Thesis at the Cooper Union. I work at school in the studio a lot but like to relax at home. I cook a lot and have a lot of great cooking supplies if you like to also. Your welcome to use all the dishes, glasses, television, etc. I am respectful, very down to earth and come with great previous references from old roomates.
This apartment is great if youre going to school in the area because its right next to Astor Place (6 train) and 8th Street and Broadway (NRQW trains) as well as a perfect location to experience the East Village and the rest of the surrounding neighborhoods. Ideally the roomate would be a female, but its not necessary - just someone of good character, friendly, and respectful.

Rent is $1400 per month, and you do not have to pay for utilities, unless you want to split the cable or wifi. If you want the apartment you must provide first and last month's rent, as well as a security deposit of $500 that will be returned to you with interest when you move out of the place.
